Race weekends are busy, exciting, and give you quality time on track.
Every meeting includes a 15-minute qualifying session, followed by two or three 20-minute races with green flag laps, depending on the event.
Each circuit brings something different, from fast and flowing layouts, to tighter more technical tracks – helping you build confidence, racecraft and experience throughout the season.
The paddock is the heartbeat of the championship. It’s open, welcoming and easy to be part of, whether you’re racing, supporting or simply coming along to watch. Drivers chat overtakes, food is shared, games are played, and lifetime friends are made.

CMR regulations are designed to keep the cars true to their roots while creating a level playing field where races are decided by driver skill, not deep pockets. Whether you build your own, buy a race-prepared Mini or hire one for selected events, there are several ways onto the CMR grid.

Every driver started somewhere, to race with CMR you’ll need:
Motorsport UK Race Licence
Annual memberships with BRSCC and CMR
A race-prepared Classic Mini (owned, hired or shared)
Appropriate race wear
Once you’re ready, memberships and race entries are all completed through the BRSCC Drivers Hub.

Burning questions?
Typical fixed costs include a Motorsport UK Race Licence (approx. £120), BRSCC Membership (£135), CMR Championship Registration (£160), and race entry (£395 per weekend).
Race entry is £395 per weekend, whether it’s a double or triple header. In 2026, thanks to support from Nankang Tyres, drivers who committed to the opening two rounds received Silverstone race entry free of charge, reducing the full-season entry cost to £1,975.
The 2026 championship season cost £2,270. This included annual BRSCC and CMR memberships, race entry for all six championship weekends, plus free race entry at Silverstone for drivers who committed to the full season, thanks to support from Nankang Tyres.
Variable costs depend on how you choose to race and may include car purchase or hire, fuel, transport, tyres, maintenance and racewear.
Guests can enter a race weekend for £490, which includes race entry at £395, and guest memberships at £95.
No. Race entry is £395 whether it’s a double or triple-header weekend. Both formats include a 15-minute qualifying session and 20-minute races, giving excellent value whichever event you choose.
Absolutely! Many of our drivers started with little or no circuit racing experience. If you’re unsure where to start, get in touch and we’ll happily explain the process and talk through the different ways of getting on the grid.
No. Some drivers own their own cars, others simply hire one.
The championship itself does not hire out cars, but we do have an array of trusted contacts that we can put you in touch with offering arrive and drive style options. We can help guide you in getting you out on track with us.
Sure! Guest entries are always welcome. Some drivers start with a single round to experience the championship before deciding whether to enter more events, or compete for the full season.
Not at all! Some of our drivers work on their own cars. For other drivers it’s best for everyone if they don’t go near a tool box! There are plenty of experienced and trustworthy engine builders that can help look after your car for you, and we’d be happy to put you in touch with them.
Each double-header weekend includes 55 minutes of scheduled track time, while triple-header weekends offer 75 minutes, including qualifying. That’s plenty of time to learn the circuit, build confidence and enjoy close racing.
Of course – the more, the merrier! Spectators are always welcome and the paddock is open throughout the weekend. Many drivers bring partners, children and friends along. CMR is just as much a social weekend as a race meeting!
Absolutely not! As long as you like Minis, motorsport and having a good time, everyone is welcome at CMR. If you want to know more about the females involved in the championship, we can talk to you about our female drivers, supporters, volunteers and organisers!

Classic Mini Racing may be new as a championship, but the people behind it are anything but.
CMR has been created by people who have spent decades competing, preparing cars, supporting teams and organising race weekends in grassroots motorsport – from circuit, endurance and rallying. We’ve taken everything we’ve enjoyed over the years and built a championship around it.
That means close racing, plenty of track time, straightforward regulations, reliable cars, and a paddock where everyone feels welcome and has fun.
We proudly describe ourselves as a driver-led championship, continually listening to our drivers and looking for ways to improve. As the championship grows, our drivers help shape where it goes next.
